Photoelectric Proximity Sensors

ISSC Kanson Electronics photoelectric proximity sensors use the physical properties of light sensitive elements to measure the presence or absence of light. Photoelectric sensors consist of an emitter, or light source, and a receiver.

Light variations from the emitter to the receiver produce a measurable electrical signal. Kanson ISSC photoelectric proximity sensors can correctly produce operation up to 2,000 LUX of ambient light. These sensors use a modulated infrared beam to obtain high operating distances with extremely low energy consumption.

We offer three types of photoelectric sensors:

Diffused Sensors 

- Transmitter, receiver and electronic control circuits are housed in the same case. Diffused sensors use the reflected light of an object for detection.

Reflex Sensors 

- The light emitted from the transmitter is reflected, received and evaluated by the sensor device. Transmitter, receiver and electronic control circuits are housed in the same case.

Thrubeam Sensors 

- Thrubeam sensors detect light beam interruptions between the emitter and receiver. The thrubeam emitter and receiver use separate housings.

Photoelectric Sensor Applications

Photoelectric sensors are commonly used on assembly lines for product positioning and automation. Photoelectric sensors can also be used to detect the presence or absence of liquid of liquid during assembly line operation.
